PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE
Prior to joining GRU, Amanda interned at a District Attorney’s Office, where she gained invaluable courtroom experience. Amanda joined GRU as a law clerk during her final year of law school, paving the way for her transition to a licensed attorney.
Before becoming an attorney, Amanda was a Deputy Probation Officer for eight years in Northern California while attending law school in the evening. She served as vice president of her employee association for several of those years, which included sitting at the bargaining table during negotiations and supporting members facing labor and employment-related issues.
Amanda spent most of her law enforcement career supervising adult offenders and spent extensive time in the field. She was assigned to several multi-agency task forces, and her additional assignments included the court and juvenile units. Amanda was also a department trainer and a frequent guest lecturer in the Criminal Justice Department at Sacramento State. Her firsthand experience navigating investigations, administrative processes, and high-stakes employment matters gives her the ability to understand and empathize with professionals whose careers and livelihoods may be at risk.
When Amanda is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, walking her dogs, wine tasting, and cooking. She also dedicates her time to supporting first responders, active and former military members, EMTs, nurses, and their families as a volunteer with 1st Responder Conferences.
